A ball night full of highlights
WU and the student union of the Vienna University of Economics and Business invite you to a special event at the Vienna Hofburg. A diversified programme is offered in the impressive premises of the former imperial palace. The WU Ball is an opportunity for students, professors, alumni and business people to network in a festive but relaxed atmosphere.
The WU Ball 2026 is organised by the Student Union at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (ÖH WU). The net profits will be donated to the social fund of the ÖH WU and thus support socially disadvantaged students.

Historical ambience
Enjoy an memorable night in the magnificent Hofburg, a place combining history and elegance. Once the residence of the Hapsburg dynasty, this majestic palace still exudes the atmosphere of bygone eras. Be enchanted by the magnificent halls and impressive architecture and enjoy the special glamour of a ball evening in one of Vienna’s most beautiful locations.
A top-class midnight show
At the WU Ball, the midnight show is always something special and combines tradition with contemporary flair. Whether it’s a fascinating show programme, a first-class artist performance or a special act – this moment will be one of the highlights of your ball night and will create unforgettable memories.
Broad live music programme
The WU Ball invites you on a musical journey in a class of its own, offering a diverse program ranging from classical dance music to rousing swing rhythms and powerful rock ‘n’ roll to the latest dance hits and the greatest evergreens. Fans of traditional sounds will also get their money’s worth.
Seats and tables can also be reserved in the preferred room to ensure an unforgettable experience.
Raffle: Win support a good project
A big raffle with great prizes is also a part of the WU Ball! Guests have the chance to win great prizes and at the same time make a valuable contribution. The entire net profit of the raffle is donated to the ÖH WU Social Fund and thus supports socially disadvantaged students on their academic path. Every ticket counts and makes a difference – don’t miss this chance!
Disco in the forum
Of course, a disco is an absolute ‘must’ at a students’ ball! The Forum will be the hotspot of the WU Ball during the ball night. Especially after midnight, ball guests of all ages meet here to celebrate and dance together. The beats of the hottest DJs and an exuberant atmosphere turn night into day – a definite must for anyone who wants to dance!
Photo wall photo box: unique memories
Want to create unforgettable memories and capture the WU Ball for eternity? With the INVERTO photo wall in the foyer and the PwC photo booth in Guard Hall I, it’s easy! Whether with friends, your dance partner, or alone, you can take home snapshots as souvenirs of this special ball evening.
Networking
As the representative body of WU students, it is important to the ÖH WU to organise networking events with fellow students and entrepreneurs alongside their studies. The WU Ball is a great opportunity to connect with fascinating personalities from the fields of business, politics and culture.
